These terms apply to the SportAPI.ai website, the SportAPI football data API, the live WebSocket feed and the free widgets (together, "the Service"). The Service is operated by Semalt LLC ("SportAPI", "we", "us"). By creating an account, using an API key or embedding a widget you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
SportAPI provides football data: fixtures, results, live scores, match events, lineups, team statistics, standings, teams and players. Coverage and the depth of data differ between competitions; the current list is on the Coverage page. We may add, change or remove endpoints, fields and competitions. For breaking changes to existing endpoints we try to give notice in the documentation in advance.
2. Accounts and API keys
- You must give a valid email address and keep your account details up to date.
- One person or organisation may hold one free account. Creating several accounts to get more free requests is not allowed.
- Keep your API keys secret. Do not put them in public code repositories or in client-side code that anyone can read. You are responsible for all requests made with your keys; if a key leaks, delete it in your dashboard and create a new one.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
3. Plans, limits and payment
- Each plan has request limits, listed on the Pricing page. Daily limits reset at 00:00 UTC; monthly limits reset on the 1st of each month. Requests over the limit are refused until the next reset.
- Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. We do not see or store your card details.
- To cancel, contact [email protected]. If a payment fails or a subscription ends, the account moves to the Free plan.
- If you think you were charged by mistake, write to us within 14 days of the charge and we will look into it.
- Prices may change. A new price applies from your next billing period after we tell you about it.
Accounts that use the Service through a marketplace such as RapidAPI are bound by that marketplace's plans, limits and billing for those requests.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the data in your own websites, apps, analysis and products. You may not:
- resell, sublicense or redistribute the raw data as a data feed or API that competes with SportAPI;
- share your API key with third parties or let them use your account;
- try to get around rate limits or quotas, for example by rotating several accounts or keys;
- disrupt the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our permission, or put an unreasonable load on it;
- use the Service for anything unlawful.
We watch usage for abuse. We may limit, suspend or close accounts and keys that break these terms, normally after contacting the account owner unless the abuse is clear or ongoing.
5. Widgets
The widgets are free. A condition of using them is that you keep the small attribution link under each widget. The widgets do not set cookies on your visitors' browsers.
6. Data accuracy and availability
We collect football data from public sources and work to keep it accurate and fast. Live scores are normally refreshed every minute, and some details, such as lineups and player statistics, are added after the match. Data can still be late, incomplete or wrong, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. Do not rely on the data alone for decisions where delays or errors could cause loss, such as betting or trading.
7. Intellectual property
The SportAPI name, website, documentation and software belong to Semalt LLC. Names and logos of leagues, clubs and competitions belong to their owners and are used only to identify them; SportAPI is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Semalt LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data or business interruption arising from the use of the Service or the inability to use it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end or suspend access as described in section 4. Sections 6 to 8 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we will notify account holders by email or on the website before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
