Add football data to your site in minutes
If you run a football blog, a fan site, a local sports news outlet, or a club academy page, keeping your visitors updated with the latest scores and standings is essential. But building a reliable data feed from scratch is expensive and technically demanding.
These are free football widgets for websites designed for content publishers, not just developers. Whether you manage a WordPress blog, a Wix site, or a plain HTML template, you can embed football data without touching a server.
These are embeddable widgets for your website, not mobile home-screen apps. They integrate directly into your web pages to keep your audience engaged with live match data, league standings, and upcoming fixtures.
The four widgets you can embed
We offer four widget types, each designed to highlight different aspects of the game. You can mix and match them on your site to create a complete football hub.
League table
Display the current standings of any league. The table shows position, matches played, wins, draws, losses, goal difference, and points. It also includes a form guide showing the last five matches as W, D, or L badges. This widget is available for league competitions only; it does not apply to pure knockout cups.
Matches & live scores
Show all matches scheduled for the day, or filter them by a single competition. Kick-off times automatically adjust to the visitor's local time zone. When a match is live, the widget displays the current minute and a live indicator. Scores refresh automatically every minute while the game is in progress.
Team fixtures
Keep fans informed about upcoming games and recent results. This widget lists a team's next fixtures alongside their last few matches, complete with W/D/L badges for results. It is ideal for club sites and fan pages focusing on a specific team's journey.
Top scorers
Highlight the leading goal scorers of the season. The widget displays the player's name, their team, and their total goals, including penalties. This is a great way to drive engagement during matchdays and transfer windows.
How to add a widget in 3 steps
- Choose your widget: Use the builder above to select the widget type, pick your competition or team, and adjust the settings.
- Copy the code: The embed code appears automatically under the live preview. Copy the two lines of HTML (a div container and one script tag).
- Paste into your site: Paste the code into your website's HTML. It works with WordPress (using a Custom HTML block), Wix, Squarespace, and any platform that accepts raw HTML. If you add multiple widgets, the script loads only once.
Customisation to match your brand
Your site has its own look and feel; your widgets should match it. You can choose a light, dark, or auto theme (which follows the visitor's system setting). Pick any accent colour to match your brand.
You can control the number of rows displayed and set a maximum height with internal scrolling to keep your page layout clean. Toggle team logos on or off, and choose whether the widget uses your site's own font or a clean system font.
Performance and compatibility
These football score widgets are built to be lightweight and unobtrusive.
- Shadow DOM: The widget renders in an isolated Shadow DOM. This means your site's CSS won't break the widget, and the widget won't break your site's design.
- Asynchronous loading: The script loads asynchronously, so it won't block your page from rendering.
- Responsive design: The widget adapts to its container width. In narrow sidebars, it switches to a compact layout with shorter team names to fit the space.
- Fast data: Data is cached on SportAPI's servers, ensuring quick load times.
- Privacy: No cookies are set by the widget.
The only requirement is to keep the small "Football data by SportAPI" link under the widget.
